  • Linda Burns Coleman

    Co-Founder & Director of Hospitality

Linda (Burns) Coleman's career has spanned strategic and creative marketing for both television and advertising agencies. She was an Executive at firms in NYC and Chicago, each led by extraordinary women (Mary Wells Lawrence and Charlotte Beers), who became her mentors. They sparked her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit and she ultimately was the Founder and President of a business which disrupted and brought clarity to the design industry's obscure fee and billing practices.

She is an intrepid traveler (not a tourist on preplanned or group travel). She's gone from A (Australia) to Z (Zanzibar) and brings vast knowledge of the finest global hotels and wellness businesses, of roads less traveled, and the value of learning a country's unique culture and philosophy through the Masters of crafts as varied as beer brewing, Japanese whisk making, and female African tribal use of textiles, colors and styles as a means of communication.

She serves meaningfully on important Boards focusing on clinical trials for cancer research at University of Chicago Hospital, After School Programming for Chicago's inner city students, Facing History & Ourselves, Human Rights Watch, and finally the creation of the break through funding strategy for The Putney Student Travel Open Door Scholarship programs.
