What is Artencia?
Artencia is a nonprofit-governed cultural institution that combines refined hospitality, interdisciplinary residencies, and public engagement—all set within the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley.
What makes Artencia different from a retreat or resort?
Unlike traditional hospitality venues, Artencia exists to serve a public mission. Guest stays help fund our residency program, public programming, and cultural initiatives. Every part of the experience is curated with purpose.
Residency Program
Who can apply for a residency at Artencia?
Artencia welcomes applications from artists, scientists, designers, writers, scholars, and interdisciplinary thinkers whose work contributes to cultural and intellectual advancement. Residencts are referred to as Artencia Fellows.
Do Fellows receive financial support?
Yes. All Fellows receive stipends and travel support. As we grow, we aim to expand fellowship opportunities to ensure equitable access.
Can Fellows interact with guests or the public?
Fellows are encouraged to share their work through talks, workshops, and informal gatherings. We believe in authentic, voluntary engagement.
Guest Experience
When will guest stays be available to book?
Guest accommodations will become available once construction is complete and our opening timeline is finalized. Join our mailing list to be notified.
What is included in a guest's stay?
Each stay includes a private cottage, access to cultural programming and wellness amenities, and seasonal dining experiences curated by our in-house culinary team.
Are Artencia’s events open to the public?
Select public programming—such as lectures, performances, and community workshops—will be available on a scheduled basis. Our gardens and trails will also be open to visitors during designated hours.

Yes. While guest stays are intentionally limited, our nonprofit mission includes maintaining public access to outdoor spaces and hosting events that benefit the broader community.
Is Artencia affiliated with a government or academic institution?
No, but we are actively developing partnerships with public agencies, educational institutions, and local organizations.
How will Artencia measure its impact?
As a nonprofit, Artencia will publish an annual impact report detailing our cultural, environmental, and community contributions.
